Borough Elections
Cheltenham Borough Council
Cheltenham is represented by 40 councillors, two for each of the Borough’s 20 wards.
Each councillor serves a four-year term and half of the council is elected every two years.
The political makeup of the Council after the Borough elections in 2021 is 30 Liberal Democrats, seven Conservatives, two People Against Bureaucracy and one Non-Aligned member.
The Liberal Democrat group has an overall majority of 20 on the Borough Council.
The Borough Council is responsible for services like rubbish collection, recycling, Council Tax collections, housing and planning applications and our parks and gardens.
