Communications and Social Media Officer
I am a retired professional statistician. I’ve been a political animal since the 1960s when as a member of the Young Liberal ‘Red Guards’, we demonstrated against the Vietnam War and Apartheid and advocated worker’s control of industry.
I joined the Labour party in the 1970s inspired by Tony Benn; left after the Iraq War appalled by Tony Blair; and rejoined when Jeremy Corbyn became leader.
I was one of the main organisers in the 1990s of Vision 21, Gloucestershire’s Local Agenda 21; then after 9/11 of Gloucestershire Network Against the War – the Afghanistan war.
Nowadays my main political interests are the environment, alternative economics and foreign policy, especially as Secretary of Global Justice-Gloucestershire.
