I joined the Labour Party in 2015 after the leadership election and have been an active member since. While we traditionally struggle in a Lib Dem/Tory marginal, the party’s enthusiasm and energy has inspired me, and I am honoured to be Chair.
I believe we need to become embedded within our communities to overturn local council seats, and to this end I have become Charlton Kings Parish councillor. It has been a fascinating insight into the third tier of government and may be a beginning for Labour’s resurgence in Cheltenham.
I am listening to members’ views on how to run meetings, campaigns etc and would encourage members thinking of getting involved to attend on the last Thursday of the month or at one of our events.
