I was given the honour of being elected as BAME Officer in October 2017. Our Ethnic Minorities Forum is open to all Labour members, affiliated trade union supporters and supporters interested in joining the party; particularly those who identify as black, Asian and minority ethnic.
Cheltenham may not be a metropolitan part of the UK with a high concentration of black, Asian and ethnic minorities. However, BAME members have a voice and should be represented wherever they live to make our politics act in the interests of the society we seek to represent and to be for the many not the few.
I am also a member of Unite the Union, Campaign for Labour Party Democracy, Campaign Against Arms Trade and Labour4Clause4.
