I was elected Treasurer at the AGM in October 2018, following five years as Chair. I joined the Labour Party in South Yorkshire during the October 1974 general election held in the aftermath of the miners’ strike during the three-day week.
I have been a member of Sheffield Hallam and Gloucester CLPs, and held a wide range of CLP and Branch officer posts as well as standing regularly as a candidate in borough, city and county council elections.
Having worked for many years in schools, I am particularly interested in educational policy and the long-standing campaign for genuine comprehensive secondary education throughout Gloucestershire. I also have a strong interest in economic policy and environmental issues.
