I joined Labour after the 2017 general election. I was elected BAME Officer and organised regular BAME Forum meetings – helping engage members. I’ve also been Branch Secretary before becoming Vice-Chair (Membership).

Since joining the Party, I’ve updated Standing Orders, proposed motions, arranged social and educational events, collaborated within digital/social media and contributed to the website. I’ve recruited activists from community groups, brought members together to collaborate, and coordinated activity with CLPs and trade unions. I try to ensure that members feel supported, engaged and involved in the local  party.

I’m also BAME Representative on the Regional Executive Committee and a member of the Regional Conference Arrangements Committee.

I’m also a member of Unite the Union, Campaign for Labour Party Democracy, Campaign Against Arms Trade and Labour4Clause4.
