2026 will mark 90 years since the Jarrow March, 60 years since the 1966 election, England’s World Cup victory, and 25 years since the 2001 election, when Labour won a historic second term.

The Labour Party nationally will be running a series of webcasts throughout 2026 to celebrate a year of online events exploring key moments in Labour’s history. Events already announced are:

  • LGBT+ History Month – Tuesday 10 February
  • International Women’s Day – Monday 9 March
  • The 1966 General Election – Tuesday 24 March
  • The Summer of ’66: Wilson & the World Cup – Tuesday 9 June
  • South Asian History Month – Tuesday 14 July
  • Live at Conference – 2001: Labour’s historic second term – September
  • The 1926 Jarrow March – Monday 5 October
  • Black History Month – Monday 12 October
  • Disability History Month – Tuesday 8 December
