Economic growth for our town in an environmentally sustainable manner
The growth of the town is to be encouraged but not at the expense of our environment.
Labour is committed to finding ways to lower the town’s carbon footprint.
The many green spaces in and around the town need to be protected and maintained to a high standard.
All new housing developments must include green spaces, places for children to play, and ways to travel in and out of any development without having to rely on having a car.
We want a rigorous policy for recycling, develop kerbside collections for items not currently collected, and ensure all areas of the town have access to recycling banks.
